"What'd I Say" (ili "What I Say") je pjesma koju je komponirao američki rhythm and blues (R&B) muzičar Ray Charles i 1959. izdao singlicu podijeljenu na dva dijela. Pjesmu je krajem 1958. godine, zajedno sa pratećim vokalima i orkestrom, improvizirao na jednom koncertu kada su iscrpili redovni repertoar prije završetka vremena za nastup; publika je njome bila toliko oduševljena da je Charles odmah od nje odlučio napraviti komercijalnu ploču.

Pjesma, u kojoj je Charles koristio svoj električni klavir Wurlitzer, kao i iskustva s gospelom, izazvala je velike kontroverzne zbog teksta koji je imao implicitni, ali za tadašnje standarde teško prihvatljivi seksualni sadržaj. Dio crnačke javnosti je Charlesa kritizirao da sekularnim (profanim) sadržajem blati kršćansku gospel tradiciju. Usprkos problema sa cenzurom na mnogim radio-stanicama, What'd I Say je postala jedna od Charlesovih najuspješnijih ploča i omogućila mu da počne eksperimentirati s novim žanrovima. Dio muzikologa pjesmu smatra prvom u historiji soula.

Pjesmu su kasnije obradili brojni izvođači, a među obradama se najviše ističe Elvis Presley u filmu Viva Las Vegas.
