Soyinka, Festivaletteratura 2019, Mantova.

Akinwande Oluwole "Wole" Babatunde Soyinka (joruberaz: Akinwándé Oluwo̩lé Babátúndé S̩óyinká, wɔlé ʃójĩŋká ahoskatua; Abekouta, 1934ko uztailaren 13a-) idazle nigeriarra da.

Joruba familia batean hazia[1], 1957an amaitu zituen ingelesezko literaturaren ikasketak, Leedsko Unibertsitatean (Britainia Handia).

1967an, kartzelatu egin zuten, bere herrialdeko gerra zibilean bake prozesua abiatzen saiatzeagatik. Garai hartakoa da Poems from Prison lana. Ia bi urte geroago kaleratu zuten.

Sani Abacha diktadorearen urteetan (1993-1998) erbesteratu behar izan zuen bere burua, AEBetan biziz batik bat. Gaur egun Las Vegasko Unibertsitatean dabil irakasle.

Hegoafrikako apartheidaren aurkako mugimenduekin ere bat egin zuen aro latz hartan.

Afrikako antzerkigilerik onentzat jotzen dute adituek. 1986an Literaturako Nobel Saria eskuratu zuen, bere kontinenteko lehenengoa izanda horrelakorik egiten[2][3]. Eleberriak, olerkiak eta saioak ere landu izan ditu. Ingelesez idatzi ditu bere liburuak.
